Pregnancy Testing
The Alpha Center offers pregnancy testing. Each person who comes to the Alpha Center for pregnancy testing meets with a Registered Nurse who will guide you through the process. Pregnancy tests can often detect hCG (the pregnancy hormone) as early as a few days before a missed period.
Signs and Symptoms of Early Pregnancy.
Pregnancy Options
You have options. If you find yourself facing an unplanned pregnancy, you have three options. You can chose to parent your child, make an adoption plan, or take the step to terminate your pregnancy. We provide education so you can make a decision you can live with for the rest of your life.
None of these choices are easy and each choice can be life changing. Whether you have already made up your mind and you just want to verify the facts or you just don't know what to do, we can help.
The Alpha Center nurses and doctors are here to provide you with accurate information on parenting, adoption and pregnancy termination.
STI Clinic
The goal of the STI Clinic at the Alpha Center is to educate you on the risks of physical, mental and emotional issues that come when you become sexually active. We want you to be able to make the most educated decisions possible when it comes to your overall well being.
Since November of 2003 the Alpha Center has been offering Free Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Testing. Our clinic is staffed by our Nurse Manager, Karen Wade, volunteer doctors and volunteer nurses. Clinic is every Wednesday with other days added when doctors and nurses are available. Because of a high volume of interest in this program, it is necessary to make an appointment with the Nurse Manager.
When coming in for STI testing you will be paired with a volunteer nurse. This nurse will take your medical history, explain procedures and answer any questions you may have. You will be assessed and tested by one of our volunteer doctors. Testing includes Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HIV, Trichomonas, yeast and bacterial Vaginitis, pap smear abnormal cells, Herpes, and Hepatitis as needed.
All test results are given the following week at a second visit to the Center. Again, you will be paired with a volunteer nurse who will go over your results with you and will be available to answer any questions you have.
